Unknown flaws of Electric Vehicles
The electric vehicle boom is spreading throughout the whole world. Companies market these vehicles as revolutionary. They have a multitude of benefits, they can reduce air pollution from vehicle emissions and input technology such as driver assistant mode. However, they aren’t safe, and electric cars still have a continuous flaw.
Recently, there have been many car accidents occurring with electric vehicles such as faulty electric systems and jammed door locks .The most dangerous problem with transportation is that the whole car runs on electricity. Some skeptics might argue what the matter with that is, but that aspect is a serious problem during a car accident. As stated from TaxAssist Accountants, the largest network in the U.K, “The only way that electric vehicles work is obviously by electricity; there are no other methods to operate it.” That way, when an electric car crashes the driver and passengers must get out of the car immediately. Unfortunately, in some cases, the electrical system can shut down, preventing the doors from opening and making rescue efforts more difficult. Additionally, many electric cars do not have traditional door handles, further complicating the situation.
To add, electric cars are prone to water moisture and can damage the battery critically. When exposed to water, the code of the whole electric vehicle malfunctions. As the safety problems of electric automobiles have been widely revealed, stock prices of electric vehicle companies plummeted; according to MarketWatch the stock price of Tesla, the most prominent industry producing electric cars, dropped by 12% on December 24th, 2022. This states that people are aware of electric vehicles’ danger.
To acknowledge that many car accidents occur by electric vehicles, a study from insurer Axa compared gas and electric cars by organizing crash tests and analyzing how electric cars are more prone to danger. The Brussels Times reports, “Electric cars are involved in 50% more traffic accidents than their petrol and diesel counterparts for a variety of reasons: the driving styles differ from internal combustion engines, and the location of the battery is different.” Such differences could be harmful. drivers might not adjust to the management of electric cars and can get involved in a car accident while accelerating and clumsily damaging the battery.
Although they seem like a solution as another brilliant electrical technology, they are yet to be perfect and people need to realize that they have a lot of room for improvement.
